P&G’s Pro-Health Rinse is creating an online buzz this week for all of the wrong reasons. The product promises to fight bad breath and plaque but some consumers are saying that it causes more harm than good.
A low percentage of users have complained that they have experienced tooth discoloration and some loss of taste after using Crest Pro Health Rinse.
The product has been on the market for three years and up until the recent NBC’s Today Show report there wasn’t much public awareness on any potential side effects.
The company has stated that millions of people have used their product with no ill effects and that 99.99% of consumers have no complaints.
This doesn’t help the fact that there have been legitimate complaints by a number of unhappy Crest Pro Health Rinse users and to top it off there are now rumors of a pending law suit.

After four uses of Crest Pro-Health, I noticed that the taste-buds on the forward half of my tongue no longer responded to normal tastes. It felt as though there was a metallic tasting sheath over it. That sensation continues two weeks later, with other tastes slowly returning.

Hi Steve,
Wow that is scary. There are many similar stories coming out publicly now. I saw the commercial and was thinking I’d buy Crest Pro-Health next time after my current mouthwash ran out. I definitely wouldn’t take the chance now!
Sorry about the problems that you’ve experienced, I’m glad your taste is returning, and I hope the company will do something about the side effects.
Have a nice weekend!
